Maulik Bhalani, MD
Dr. Maulik Bhalani is the founder and CEO of Florida Pain Medicine and founder and medical director of Surgery Center of Florida. Board-certified in interventional pain medicine and physical medicine & rehabilitation, he earned his medical degree from Creighton University and completed his residency and pain fellowship at the University of South Florida, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Bhalani serves as Vice President of the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and as clinical associate professor at USF, where Surgery Center of Florida is a core rotation site for ACGME fellows.
Shawn Murphy, DO
Dr. Shawn Murphy is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation with advanced training in interventional pain management and musculoskeletal medicine. He completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was elected Chief Resident and received the Hopkins Healer Award for compassion and professionalism. He earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and his bachelor’s in athletic training from Duquesne University. Dr. Murphy specializes in multidisciplinary pain management, helping patients return to their highest level of activity.
Lane Peterson, DO
Dr. Lane Peterson is double board-certified in Interventional Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Since 2008, he has specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal and neurological pain, performing procedures including epidurals, facet joint blocks, radiofrequency ablation, neurostimulator implantations, and peripheral nerve blocks. He earned his medical degree from Des Moines University and completed his residency at Georgetown University Hospital/National Rehabilitation Hospital, followed by a pain fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Peterson takes a multi-factorial, individualized approach to identifying and treating the root causes of pain.
Jonathan Stone, MD
Dr. Jonathan Stone is double board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. He earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Stone performs a full range of interventional procedures using ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance, including nerve blocks, radiofrequency neurotomies, spinal cord stimulation, and kyphoplasty. He takes a multifaceted approach to pain, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual components of each patient’s experience.
